The Doorway  (June 2015)

My Thoughts

Ever wonder what it would be like to live your life over knowing what you know now?  Perhaps it would be cool to be your favorite character with a precognition of the plot before it actually happened.  This is exactly what happened to David but is this a dream come true or is he just a prisoner of his own careless words?  Fate vs. Freewill; find out which will prevail.

Haunted Pasts (Apr 2015)

My Thoughts

This story was a lot of fun to write.  More than a little of my own experiences and heartache was written into the main character who certainly has numerous obstacles to overcome; but from where or whom did these obstacles originate?  Is there ever really only one culprit solely to blame?  Can anyone really be absolved of blame?  A good summary of this story is that "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink".

A review of Haunted Pasts posted on Amazon:

For me the test of a good book is how long it sticks in my mind after the final page. That would make this a very good book indeed since I can't stop thinking about it. I'm still thinking about the main character, Lana, and the emotional abuse suffered by so many bullied students today; about the thoughtless cruelty inflicted by one teen on another with no regard for its impact; and about the lengths to which the bullied would be willing to go to hopefully find some measure of acceptance. It's all too common today and it's an underlying theme in Lana's life.

Then there's the story within the story: the history of the old house and its occupants. "If only these walls could talk..." Well in this case they do, and the mystery of the old house is yet another intriguing tale and an example of how the past seeps into the present.

The interaction between the central character, Lana, and the ghost is complicated and becomes more and more intense as the story develops. At times it's difficult to tell one from the other despite the differences in their personalities.

And the ending--I have to admit that I never saw it coming. I am definitely still thinking about that. Was this a Happily Ever After? And if so, for whom?
